The advisory meeting is intended for education directors, education coordinators, team leaders, programme managers and policy advisors in education, internationalisation and digitalisation.

Advisory meeting programme:

  • Short introductory round, including sharing opportunities and challenges in successfully integrating VIS into institutions
  • Presentation of Saxion’s VIS Carousel
  • Discussion on wider application of the VIS Carousel and similar concepts within higher professional education and university institutions.

Speaker: Thierry Tartarin: senior lecturer/researcher, Saxion University of Applied Sciences
Topic: VIS Carrousel: a flexible and sustainable way to embed virtual international collaboration in the curriculum.

Summary:

The VIS Carousel (VC) is a concept that enables the sustainable embedding of international cooperation in every curriculum. While coordination with partners in VIS projects can be quite challenging (aligning educational programmes, time zones, involving students, types of activities, etc.), the VIS Carousel offers an approach that views these challenges as opportunities. In addition to addressing these challenges, the VIS Carousel ensures the sustainable use of previously subsidised (VIS) projects.

During this online advisory meeting, Thierry will explain how the VIS Carousel works and how it ensures that certain programme topics can be used more broadly. This helps to embed them in the curriculum. Thierry will explain how the VIS Carrousel changes the dialogue with international partners in this way and creates new opportunities for cooperation for both parties. Using examples from Saxion and interaction with the audience, he will further illustrate how this concept can be applied in practice at higher professional education and university institutions.
